Discover Ontario ~ City of Barrie
Ontario Visited is dedicated to discovering and exploring Ontario Communities, their events and their residents.
Our DISCOVER ONTARIO video series takes visitors along with us as we learn more about the communities and events we experience. Each video and post include an “interesting” fact about the community or event we visited. See if you can guess the right answer!
This week’s video features the City of Barrie, located on the shores of Lake Simcoe. Barrie is a thriving community, located north of Toronto. It is also the gateway to cottage country.
Over the years, like many people, we have been “through” Barrie (on Hwy 400), on our way to Muskoka. It wasn’t until we moved to the area, that we really explored the city. It’s a wonderful place to visit and shop and, with its proximity to Toronto, it’s a great place to live.
Barrie hosts a wonderful festival, Kempenfest, which is held on Kempenfelt Bay. What lake is Kempenfelt Bay on?
ANSWER? Lake Ontario, Lake Couchiching, Lake Scugog, Lake Simcoe
The correct answer is shown below. Don’t peek!
Have fun and hopefully we will see you along the “Ontario Road of Discovery”!
**The answer to our City of Barrie question is Lake Simcoe.
