Discover Ontario ~ Toronto Historic Distillery District
Ontario Visited is dedicated to discovering and exploring Ontario Communities, their events and their residents.
Our DISCOVER ONTARIO video series takes visitors along with us as we learn more about the communities and events we experience. Each video and post include an “interesting” fact about the community or event we visited. See if you can guess the right answer!
This week’s video features Toronto Historic Distillery District. The District is located in the heart of downtown Toronto. What’s great about the Distillery District is that it is a “pedestrian only” area. It has so many great shops and restaurants!
As you walk through this fascinating complex, you can feel the “dream” that the developers had envisaged. Everything seems to echo the historic feeling! The “cobble stone” walkways, the historic buildings and the hidden alcoves, all match the “spirit” of the District!
Who were the founders of the Toronto Historic Distillery District?
ANSWER? William Gooderham, Mayor Mel Lastman, Gooderham and Worts Distillery, James Worts
The correct answer is shown below. Don’t peek!
Have fun and hopefully we will see you along the “Ontario Road of Discovery”!
**The answer to our Toronto Historic Distillery District question is Gooderham and Worts Distillery in 1832.
