Festival Nomad and Scoop (Gary and Judi McWilliams) had some extra time in between shows at the Shaw Festival, and what could be better than to exploring Shaw grounds.

Before we went in, we were trying the typical “selfies” … when to our surprise a woman offered to help with the photo.

Posing with Shaw Festival actress, Patty Jamieson

It turned out it was non other than Patty Jamieson, professional actress preforming at the Shaw this season.

We toured the gift shop, and headed Outdoors at the Shaw!

Our Video showcase some of the walk about and beautiful gardens.

Outside the Spiegeltent

Seeing the Spiegeltent and grounds in the daylight gave us a more intimate view of the spectacular designs of the buildings.

Outside at the Shaw

While on the tour, another enthusiastic couple mentioned we could see poems around the grounds, many recommended by the performers.

Fellow Shaw explorers

We recruited them for a moment to capture a photo of us during our walk about.

A Shaw Festival garden poem

The woman kindly read the poem out loud for me, which ironically was suggested as a favourite by Patty Jamieson.

Shaw's gardens

As the summer breeze blew gently in air, the warm sun on my back, the rose garden smelling sweet, it was a beautiful moment in time … a time to embrace something new!

Holiday Season at The Shaw

Make sure you celebrate the holiday season with the return of one of the most romantic and magical musicals! What would you give up for love? Stumbling upon a magical village that appears out of the Scottish mist for one day every century, Tommy, a modern boy, meets Fiona, a girl from the past. Should he stay with her in Brigadoon, or return to the world he knows and never see her again? This feast of song and dance from Lerner and Loewe (the team behind My Fair Lady) has been entrancing audiences for more than seven decades. Classic songs like “Almost like being in love” and “I’ll go home with Bonnie Jean” will stay with you forever.
