Blueberry Festival returning to Red Oak Villa July 18

The annual festival will include ‘full programming,’ including a pancake breakfast, pie-eating context and blueberry market and associated activities

Rest-assured, local blueberry aficionados, the annual Blueberry Festival is returning.

Red Oak Villa will again host the festival, with a full day’s activities slated for July 18.

A longstanding celebration of community, connection, and Northern Ontario pride, the Blueberry Festival has brought together residents, families, and local partners for years,” according to a Dalron Senior Living media release.

Activities include an all you can eat blueberry pancake breakfast, the celebrity pie-eating contest, a blueberry market featuring local artisans, family-friendly entertainment and “signature blueberry-inspired experiences that celebrate the spirit of the North.”

We are excited to bring the Blueberry Festival back to Red Oak Villa,” according to a quote attributable by Dalron leadership.

This event represents everything we value — community, connection, and creating meaningful experiences for seniors, families, and neighbours across Sudbury and beyond.”

This year’s event will include the introduction of the Blueberry Passport.

The passport is designed to encourage exploration and participation across festival activities and community partners, and “guide attendees through a fun and interactive journey of the festival.

Meanwhile, organizers are seeking sponsors, vendor participation and collaborative programming opportunities.

More details will be released in the coming weeks.
