Community Theatre Centre holding summer camps

The camps are offering training in acting, movement, voice and ensemble work

The Sault Community Theatre Centre (SCTC) is encouraging families to register soon for its brand-new Summer Children’s Theatre Camps, with spots already beginning to fill across several weeks of programming.

Launching in July and August, the new camp series will offer engaging performing arts programming for youth, focused on acting, movement, voice, and ensemble creation. Camps will also incorporate games and collaborative activities led by local artists.

The camp schedule is as follows:

  • Week One: July 6-10
  • Week Two: July 13-17
  • Week Three: July 20-24
  • Two-Week Intensive: Aug. 3-14

The one-week camps are open to participants ages nine to 12, while the two-week intensive performance camp is open to youth ages nine to 14. The three one-week camps are designed as standalone experiences, each with its own creative focus and final showcase. The two-week intensive offers a more immersive rehearsal process culminating in a fully staged youth production in a professional theatre setting.

Theatre camps for youth have been something we’ve wanted to undertake for quite a while,” said Garrett Abrams, Theatre Manager / Artistic Director at SCTC. “We’re incredibly excited by the response so far, and I really see these camps as the beginning of much more youth programming to come at the theatre centre.

Registration is currently open through the SCTC Box Office in the Station Mall or online at: https://secure1.tixhub.com/saultSteMarie/online/b_SaleItem_Camp.asp

With spaces limited and interest continuing to grow, families are encouraged to register as soon as possible to secure their spots.
