Lakeshore Village Grilled Cheese Challenge 2026

If you’re serious about grilled cheese, head to south Etobicoke to witness Ontario’s largest celebration of the sandwich at the Lakeshore Village Grilled Cheese Challenge.

With past events attracting crowds upwards of 40,000 visitors, this one-day event, which starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 8 p.m., is hosted by the Lakeshore Village BIA is an outdoor festival that stretches along a section of Lakeshore Boulevard West from Islington Avenue to Second Street. In The Challenger tent, attendees can go head-to-head in a friendly competition with local chefs and grilled cheese enthusiasts to compete for the best recipe. Admission is free, and there are several exciting cash prizes for the creator of the best grilled cheese.
