Theatre Orangeville to offer some quirky fare
For the upcoming season, the theatre is introducing flex subscriptions, letting. subscribers commit to five-show or three-show main stage packages
Artistic Director Jennifer Stewart took to the stage to unveil the 2026-2027 Theatre Orangeville lineup featuring five mainstage productions and a special season-opening add-on. The season will feature Canadian stories and four world premieres.
From powerful storytelling and unforgettable characters to laughter, music, and moments that stay with you long after the curtain falls, this season promises adventure, imagination, and discovery.
New for the 2026/27 season, Theatre Orangeville is introducing flex subscriptions. Flex subscribers can commit to the five-show or three-show main stage packages and then reserve their seats for the performances that best fit their schedules.
Subscriptions are on sale exclusively until April 12th, giving subscribers first access to the best seats in the house before single tickets go on sale.
- Sept. 25th-27th take a musical journey back in time with How We Got to Jersey: A Tale of Two Frankies. Find out how two small-town Canadian kids grew up to BOTH play a bonafide Rock-AndRoll Hall-Of-Fame superstar on stages around the world to an audience of millions.
- The first mainstage production of the 33rd season is Love or Nothing: A Double Bill, featuring not one, but two charming plays by Stewart Lemoine, witty one-act plays that deliver two sharply
observed and delightfully offbeat stories. Love is for Poor People – a forthright and glamorous woman of the world presents a candid look back at the trajectory of her long and eventful life, despite the fact she’s still quite young and has yet to live most of it.
In the second act, Or You Could Do Nothing, we meet Owen Fyfe who has two significant gifts: a home of improbable size and a rare penchant for identifying unexpected potential in total strangers. This double bill is on stage Oct. 15th-Nov. 1st.
- The tradition of a holiday panto returns for Christmas season – from the comedic duo of Debbie Collins and David Nairn. Get ready for A Lamp Full of Laughs with Aladdin: A Lad in Dufferin County.
- Flight, a World Premiere by Mark Weatherley is on stage Feb. 18th-Mar. 7th, 2027. What do you do when you lose your job, lose your husband and your town is dying? You decide to open a winery of course! Join Dianna on her hilariously rollicking adventure as she improvises her way from after-hours janitor to high stakes entrepreneur.
- Ballycroy will be on stage from Apr. 1st-18th, 2027. The Southern Ontario community of Ballycroy enjoyed explosive success from 1821-75, until a suspicious fire destroyed much of the town, taking the lives of three Irish milliners (hat makers) before fading into relative obscurity.
Over the years that followed, Ballycroy’s sad fate has been the subject of rumour and insinuation. Fact or fable, truth or lies – there is no denying that three women were lost to flames that lit the night sky above Ballycroy on Apr. 29, 1875. Marek Norman has created a work that walks the line between myth and reality.
- Age is a Feeling by Haley McGee will be closing out the season from Apr. 29th-May 16th, 2027. Inspired by hospices, mystics and trips to the cemetery, it wrestles with our endless chances to change course while we’re alive.
