$272K from province will help pay for Ski Cross World Cup at Blue Mountain

The 2026 event takes place March 2 to 15

The province is chipping in some cash for the 2026 FIS Ski Cross World Cup, which will be at Blue Mountain on March 2 to 15.

Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson made the announcement today (Oct. 15) via a news release, confirming $272,300 to Alpine Canada for the event.

I’m proud that our government is supporting the 2026 FIS Ski Cross World Cup here in the Blue Mountains,” said Saunderson in the news release. “This is a world-class event that will showcase Ontario’s natural assets, strengthen our local economy, and inspire the next generation of athletes. This investment reflects our commitment to building healthy, active communities and reinforcing Simcoe-Grey’s reputation as a premier destination for sport and tourism.

The money for the event came from the Ontario Sport Hosting Program, which is putting $1.6 million into sports events across Ontario.
