Holidays in the hills festival brings small town Christmas magic to Ontario community

The Orono fairgrounds is all decked out for the season for the Holiday in the Hills Christmas festival, which opened last weekend and runs until December 22.

Durham Region’s newest holiday tradition brings Christmas to life with magic for all ages, with everything from gingerbread decorating, visits with Mr. and Mrs. Claus (as well as the Grinch) and story time with Rudolph, among many other attractions at this ticketed event.

Durham Region’s business community has also been challenged for a third year in a row to a Christmas Tree Decoration competition for a great cause. Stroll through the ‘Trees for Love’ and find your favourite tree.

Families in need will benefit with $100 from each entry going directly to the local food bank.

The festival is open Thursdays from 4-8, Fridays from 4-9, Saturdays from 3-9 and S|undays from 3-8 until December 22. Tickets are $15.51, with a Santa’s Cabin Pass, which includes general admission to the event, as well as your families personal visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, set $65.00 for four guests.
