‘Pinball’ headlines Ontario Rotary event aimed at inspiring youth

A sporting icon and Toronto’s favourite adopted son will be joined by one of Whitby’s most accomplished women for a Rotary Breakfast of Champions event December 3 at Deer Creek Golf Club in Ajax.

Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons and Christine Elliot will be joined by Ontario Chamber of Commerce CEO Daniel Tisch for the event (with broadcasting legend and local resident Ken Shaw serving as Master of Ceremonies), which is aimed at inspiring youth with powerful lessons on leadership, resilience and community.

Whitby Sunrise Rotary Club and Rotary Club of Whitby will host and Clemons will headline the event, with the Toronto Argonaut General Manager, multiple Grey Cup champion and noted philanthropist – who is also one of Canada’s most sought-after motivational speakers – bringing his infectious energy and life lessons on teamwork, perseverance, and giving back.

He will be joined at the podium by Elliot, the former provincial Health Minister and Deputy Premier and advocate for health care and community well-being, who will speak on leadership in public service.

Tisch will offer insights on innovation, resilience, and success in today’s business world.

The Breakfast with Champions is more than breakfast – it’s about sparking inspiration across generations,” said Rotary Club of Whitby President Deidre Newman. “Youth will hear directly from leaders who have faced adversity, overcome challenges, and achieved dreams. Our goal is to recognize and inspire champions in every generation and most importantly the next generation.”

Doors open at 7 a.m., with the program running from 7:30 a.m.to 9 a.m.

Tickets are $75 each or $750 for a table of ten and sponsorship packages are available. Visit https://www.simpletix.com/e/breakfast-with-champions-tickets-237736 for more information.
