Witches, tea and charity: Joyland Beach’s magical event set for October

A Touch of Magic Brew Ha Ha will benefit Joyland Beach Community Centre, Brechin-Mara Legion

The Joyland Beach Association is thrilled to announce its upcoming fall fundraiser, A Touch of Magic Brew Ha Ha — a witches-themed high tea featuring live entertainment, a fashion show, and a silent auction.

The event will take place on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joyland Beach Community Centre (4303 McRae Park Rd., Ramara).

All proceeds will directly benefit two vital volunteer-run organizations: the Joyland Beach Community Centre and the Brechin-Mara Legion.

Founded in 1960, the Joyland Beach Association has long been a hub for local residents, sustained through membership dues, rentals, and fundraising. This year, the association is proud to partner with the Brechin-Mara Legion, which supports veterans, organizes remembrance events, and fosters community connection through social programs. Event funds will assist with the Legion’s ongoing basement renovation project — repairs that began after a 2020 flood and include a new club room and fully accessible washrooms.

Last year’s event drew 120 attendees and raised more than $7,000 through ticket sales, donations, and auction items. Guests enjoyed a lively afternoon of costumes, music, and high tea served by local firefighters.

We’re building on the success of 2024 with an even bigger and more magical experience this year,” said organizers. “It’s an afternoon of fun with a real community impact.”

Tickets are $40 and can be reserved by e-transfer at joylandreceipts@gmail.com. Physical tickets will also be available starting Oct. 1, 2025, at Second Chance Thrift Store (across from Giant Tiger).
