Caledon is marking Black History Month with several exhibits and presentations, including impacts made by residents, to raise awareness of how the community has shaped the town and country’s history.
A flag-raising ceremony will take place on Feb. 4 at the Caledon Town Hall, located at 6311 Old Church Rd. in Caledon East.
“Black History Month is an opportunity to reflect on our shared history, celebrate the achievements and resilience of Black communities, and foster learning and connection,” Mayor Annette Groves said in a media statement.
“I encourage everyone to attend our various community events that bring awareness to the work done by the Black community to shape our country.”

- Joan Butterfield’s art collection display: An exhibition of art pieces depicting Black culture by Joan Butterfield, is on display at the Town Hall Atrium from Feb. 4 to 28.
