A message from our Artistic Directors – St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival

One year ago we packed our bags for the first time to move our family out to Eastern Ontario, not knowing what the summer would hold. As we begin to pack again a year later, we’re reflecting on this past year, the people we’ve met and the community we’ve joined. We had no idea what was in store for us, and have fallen in love with the people, the theatre, and the region.

We have said over and over that the Kinsmen Amphitheatre is the most beautiful place to see theatre in this country. We feel incredibly lucky to be able to create theatre with such a majestic backdrop.

In our short time at the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival, we have learned that the impact it has is immeasurable. It creates core memories for families experiencing the magic of live professional theatre, it offers community and connection to the robust team of volunteers who work tirelessly to make the season a success, it give opportunities to some of Canada’s top talents to connect with audiences in an intimate setting, exploring plays from new perspectives. We could go on and on.
