Elks lodge to host big Christmas event
‘Although many of us have places to go and people to be with on Christmas, some folks have no plans on Christmas Day’
For many of us, our fondest Christmas Memories involve a house full of family and friends with plenty of music, food, cards, games, snacks, noise, and fun.
Unfortunately, that is not the case for everyone, so the North Bay Elks Lodge #25 is hosting a free, all-ages event on Christmas Day called Big Christmas.
Organizers say Big Christmas will have kids and teen activities, a magic show, cards and board games, family movies and cartoons, live music, food and snacks, and festive holiday cheer.
“Although many of us have places to go and people to be with on Christmas, some folks have no plans on Christmas Day,” said Shawn Kettner, event organizer. “This year we are going to change that.”
The Elks Lodge Big Christmas runs from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Christmas Day and is open to everyone.
A family magic show performed by the Magic of Christophe will take place at 3 p.m.
Musicians Gary Davison, Josh Dimmel, The Jamieson Boys, and Tom & Tracy Milette will perform live music.
“If you have nothing to do Christmas Day, don’t spend it alone; please join your friends and the member volunteers at your local Elks Lodge for our first-ever Big Christmas,” added Kettner.
Please note that children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and for safety reasons no backpacks, book bags, or outside food and beverages, etc., can be taken into the hall. This is a drug-free, family event and there will be a complimentary coat check available.
