One reason why it’s interesting to me, is that it has one of the best Maple Syrup Festivals in Ontario.
Judi and I have visited Elmira numerous times, many in the summer and fall months.
This time our visit was during the winter months.
We came from the north and passed be several industrial buildings.
We wound are way through the streets until we came to the downtown area.
Elmira’s downtown seems to caters to local and rural residents.
There’s a mixture of older and newer buildings.
Elmira is “home to the largest population of Old Order Mennonites in Canada”
It’s not unusual to see Mennonite horse and buggies driving along side of one another.
We passed through the downtown area towards the south.
We pass by beautiful churches.
And older distinguished home.
Soon we come to a more industrial-commercial area. This is located at the southern edge of the town.
We turned back towards the downtown. We wanted to find a place where we could take our Elmira Oh Canada Eh! Game video.
As we drove north we came to Memorial Park.
This park is a tribute to Elmira’s fallen soldiers.
We drove a little further until we came to another park. This one, Gore Park, “looked” perfect for our “shoot“!
It was, except that the snow coming into the Gazebo was up to our knees!
Undaunted we completed our Oh Canada Eh! Game video and started to head for home.
Along the way we passed more interesting buildings.
With downtown Elmira behind us, we reached the “open roads” of rural country.
“Others” were also making their way home through the “snow lined” roads.
