Community, Connections, Traditions, History, Heritage, Culture …and of course, Family! The Northumberland Scottish Festival and Highland Games is held at the Port Hope Agricultural Park on the third Saturday in June. Planning for the 62nd Northumberland Scottish Festival and Highland Games scheduled for June 19th & 20th is underway which means our website will be under construction for a wee while. Keep checking in though! Our Festival is run completely by volunteers, and we rely solely on proceeds from ticket sales, grants, donations and sponsors to fund the event.

Pipe and Drum Band Competitions

The Northumberland Scottish Festival & Highland Games will be held on June 19th and 20th 2026 at the Port Hope Agricultural Park. Solo Piping and Drumming competitions will start on Saturday June 20th at 8:30 a.m. with a short break for our Opening Ceremonies at 11.45 a.m. when you need to take in the sights and sounds of the Massed Bands performing. The skirl of the Pipes and the beat of the drums will fill the Park during the Massed Bands, and the Band competitions from Grade 1 to Grade 5, for titles and prizes all afternoon. Join the bands after the competitions, in the refreshment tent to cheer on the winning bands of each level. We are a member of the Pipers and Pipe Band Society of Ontario (PPBSO). Contact PPBSO if you’re interested in competing in the Solo and/or Band Competitions.

Highland Dancing Competitions

Our Scottish Festival attracts hundreds of highland dancers every year, some as young as four years of age, all happy to display their expertise in highland dancing. The dance competitions will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday June 20th and continue throughout the day. Dances include the Highland Fling, Sword Dance, Seann Triubhas and the Irish Jig.
