Hike For Hospice event happening at Bell Park on May 4
Annual Sudbury hiking event is a community fundraiser that also raises awareness for the important role of the hospice in Sudbury
Registration is now open for the annual Sudbury Credit Union Hike For Hospice 2025. The event is to take place on Sunday, May 4, with the start line at the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre in Sudbury’s Bell Park.
In person registration takes place at 1 p.m. that day.
Participants can choose between two hiking options; the two-kilometre hike or the more challenging five-kilometre route, said a news release from the organizers.
Proceeds from the Sudbury Credit Union Hike for Hospice directly benefit the Maison McCulloch Hospice, which provides compassionate care to individuals at end-of-life.
This event is an opportunity to celebrate and honor the lives of loved ones, while also raising funds ensuring that Maison McCulloch Hospice can continue to provide the highest level of care to those in need in our community at no cost.
Ashley Bertrand, director of the Sudbury Hospice Foundation, said the event is important for Sudbury.
“The Hike for Hospice is a heartwarming and vital event for the Sudbury community,” said Bertrand.
“By participating in this event, you are helping to provide comfort, dignity, and compassionate care to individuals and families at one of the most difficult times in their lives. We encourage everyone to join us, support this important cause, and make a difference in the lives of others,” she said.
Participants can register online and start fundraising today, said the news release. Teams and individuals are encouraged to create their own fundraising pages, rally support from friends, family, and colleagues, and help spread the word to make sure that this year’s event is a success, said the release.
