From the much anticipated 28th annual Festival of Lights and Trees to the beloved tradition of our panto and a number of holiday concerts sprinkled through, the beautiful Capitol Theatre is ready to welcome guests of all ages to celebrate this season!

Rapunzel A Merry (Hairy) Holiday Panto

A twisted take on the story of some very very long hair.
Rapunzel is bored and lonely, with her lengthy braid as her only potential for escape. When a dim-witted prince accidentally discovers her plight, it sets in motion a string of events that will unravel the original story in surprising and wonderful way. In this wildly funny reimagining of the traditional tale, Rapunzel comes to discover the power within—all set to a score of popular songs and beloved panto traditions.

The Capitol is alight with festive spirit!
The Festival of Lights and Trees illuminates Northumberland County’s holiday spirit like nothing else. Since its inception in 1997, this annual fundraising initiative has been a community favourite, creating memories and becoming a holiday tradition for guests of all ages, all while raising essential operating funds for the Capitol Theatre.
