History of the Lansdowne Fair
The Lansdowne Fair, established in 1864, is a longstanding agricultural tradition in Lansdowne, Ontario. Each July, the Lansdowne Fairgrounds come alive with a variety of events and activities, including horse shows, home craft exhibits, live music, a midway, petting zoo, home-cooked meals, vendors, demolition derbies, truck and tractor pulls, and numerous contests, all reflecting the rich rural heritage of the community.
In 2024, the fair celebrated its 160th anniversary, marking over a century and a half of community engagement and entertainment. The milestone event featured performances like The Epic Eagles Tribute Band and continued its tradition of offering diverse attractions for attendees of all ages.
The fair’s enduring success is attributed to the dedicated efforts of volunteers who work year-round to organize and enhance the event, ensuring it remains a memorable experience for all visitors.
