Sun Life Waterloo Busker Carnival is super excited to share this NEWS …
“We are super excited to introduce our first performer of 2025 – DEREK DEREK.
A silent, sassy whirlwind of physical comedy, audience interaction, and world-class juggling, Derek McAlister’s show is a rollercoaster of absurdity and charm. With international flair and a mischievous wink, he pulls volunteers into the spotlight, builds to jaw-dropping stunts—and somehow ends up topless in a tango. It’s street theatre at its boldest: smart, silly, and utterly unforgettable.
Our second performer for 2025 is… HEROMACRO.
One’s a Ninja, the other a Geisha—together they bring the culture and comedy of Japan to life. With years of experience performing at festivals across Europe and around the world, HEROMACRO unites audiences through feats of strength, flexibility, death-defying stunts, and… chopsticks. All delivered with a quirky, distinctly Japanese sense of humour
Our third performer for 2025 is… PLAF!
Plaf! (Julia Perron, Circus artist) is a circus celebration of female boldness, determination, and ingenuity in all its forms. This charismatic show blends hula hoop, German wheel, and acrobatics—infused with a twist of comedy and set to the best hits of the ’50s to ’70s. It’s a joyful, time-traveling experience that delights the whole family and reminds you to savour the present moment.
Our fourth performer for 2025… SAM MALCOLM.
Sam Malcolm blends razor-sharp improv, world-class circus skills, and a one-of-a-kind comedic style into a fast-paced, crowd-pleasing show. Originally from the Stillwater Paiute-Shoshone reservation in the U.S., he has performed around the globe, earning a reputation for his quick wit, infectious energy, and unbeatable crowd work. Expect laughs, surprises, and a seriously good time
Our fifth performer for 2025 is… Seb & Fritzzz.
Sebastian “Seb” Whipits brings German whip artistry to life with a relaxed presence and irresistible charm—joined by the silent but sonically brilliant DJ Fritzzz. Together, they deliver a multiple award-winning show featuring whip cracking, whip juggling, and an unforgettable fire whip duel finale—all backed by DJ Fritzzz’s jaw-dropping vocal magic
Our sixth performer for 2025 is… SPANDY ANDY.
Back by popular demand, the one and only Spandy Andy returns with even more energy, colour, and contagious positivity! His Big Balloon Act is a jaw-dropping, family-friendly spectacle where he dances, dazzles, and—yes—climbs inside a giant balloon. This one-of-a-kind performance blends comedy, circus, and pure joy into an unforgettable experience that leaves audiences of all ages cheering for more.”

Ignite your weekend on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 10pm as Hoop You presents their Fire Fusion Spectacular—a high-energy trio show featuring expertly choreographed fire dancing and mesmerizing visuals. This sizzling performance lights up the night and sets the tone for an unforgettable weekend. Bring your friends, grab a spot, and feel the heat!
Then on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 10pm don’t miss the electrifying spectacle as NorthFIRE Circus lights up the sky with breathtaking fire artistry, paired with the intense, genre-defying sounds of world-renowned electric violinist Dr. Draw and the Strange Parade. This one-of-a-kind performance fuses danger, drama, and musical brilliance—an unforgettable highlight of the festival!
