Celebrate Earth Day with Us: Join Three Amazing Events on April 26th, 2025!
Looking for ways to make a positive impact this Earth Day? Loyalist Township is hosting three exciting community events on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, to celebrate and promote environmental stewardship. Whether you’re eager to clean up, recycle, or give back, there’s an opportunity for everyone to get involved!
Loyalist Township Community Cleanup:
April 26th, 2025
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Locations: Three Community Rally Points throughout Loyalist Township
Join us for a community cleanup to help make Loyalist Township cleaner and greener! Participants can choose from several rally points where they will receive free gloves and garbage bags. Afterward, head to your chosen cleanup location and pick up litter. Once finished, full garbage bags are to be left at public garbage bins or at the curbside. Pre-registration is encouraged to help us prepare for the event.
Electronic Waste, Battery, Food, & Textile Recycling Drive:
April 26th, 2025
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Amherstview Fire Station, 363 Amherst Drive, Amherstview
It’s time to declutter your home and make a positive impact on the environment! Loyalist Township’s annual recycling drive invites residents to responsibly dispose of electronic waste (e-waste), batteries, gently used clothing, and non-perishable food items. Visit the Amherstview Fire Station anytime during the event to drop off your items. Township staff will be on hand to assist with e-waste and battery disposal, while the Loyalist Community Sharing Centre will collect gently used clothing and textiles. The Amherstview Lions Club will be accepting non-perishable food donations to support local families in need.
Curbside Giveaway Day:
April 26th, 2025
7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Curbside Giveaway Day provides an opportunity for residents to put out gently used items that are still in good condition and can be reused by others. Whether you’re decluttering your home or looking for something new, this is the perfect way to recycle items and keep them out of landfills. Simply place your items curbside with a visible “FREE” sign and pass them along to someone who will make use of them. This year, we have a new Curbside Giveaway Day map that allows community members to pin the location of the free items they have put curbside, which will help others easily plan their treasure hunt on Giveaway Day!
