History of the Mildmay Fall Fair
The Mildmay Fall Fair has been a cherished tradition in Mildmay, Ontario, for over 160 years. Established in the mid-19th century, the fair has consistently celebrated the region’s rich agricultural heritage and fostered a strong sense of community.
In 2018, the fair marked its 155th anniversary, featuring a variety of events such as the annual parade concluding at the Mildmay-Carrick Community Centre, which hosted numerous exhibits and displays. These included handmade quilts, locally sourced vegetables, homemade preserves, and baked goods. The fair also offered activities like 4-H programming, a farmer’s Olympics, bouncy castles, a petting zoo, paintball, and the popular demolition derby.
The fair is organized by the Mildmay Agricultural Society, which maintains an active presence on social media platforms to engage with the community and share updates about upcoming events.
