Milton theatre group to stage Disney classic
~ Frozen JR performances set for December 28 and 29 at local arts centre ~
The name may suggest otherwise, but a certain iconic Disney tale is sure to warm hearts on the local stage later this month.
That’s courtesy of Milton Community Theatre, whose latest production – Frozen JR – is fast approaching.
Set for Dec. 28 and 29 at FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton, the performance expands upon the emotional relationship between two princesses – exploring true love, acceptance and the powerful bond of sisterhood.
“MCT loves to spread holiday cheer for our community, and all our productions have been able to bring families and friends of all ages together,” said troupe owner, producer and choreographer, whose previous offerings include Elf the Musical and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer JR.
With a cast of thespians seven years of age to adults, Frozen JR features an ample dose of adventure and humour for its three-show run – Saturday, Dec. 28 at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 29 at 2 p.m.
Katy Hughes returns as this year’s director, while the production crew includes musical director Michael Taylor, assistant Rachel Harris, technical coordinator/set designer Jasmin Goode, producer Kim Jesch and costumer designer Gillian Grant.
Adding to the overall theatrics will be returning special guest performers Purple Stage Door Productions and Milton Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Said Rawson, “Audiences should expect to see the magic and songs they know and love come to life on stage.”
