From August 28th to 30th, 2025, the Quinte Exhibition returns for its 202nd year, making it one of Canada’s longest-running and most cherished agricultural fairs. First established in 1823, the Quinte Exhibition continues to honour its deep rural roots while offering an exciting mix of modern entertainment, traditional showcases, and family-friendly fun.
Set in the heart of Belleville, this historic event brings together generations of fairgoers, farmers, and families to celebrate everything that makes country life special—from roaring engines to prize-winning pies.
Heart-Pounding Action & Classic Fair Fun
One of the biggest crowd-pleasers of the weekend is the Demolition Derby, where drivers go bumper to bumper in a thrilling contest of speed, strategy, and survival. The roaring engines, flying mud, and cheering crowds make this a must-see event every year.
For fans of horsepower in a different form, the Tractor and Truck Pull showcases the sheer force of heavy-duty vehicles as they compete to haul massive loads down the track. It’s a true test of strength and mechanics that highlights the skill and grit of rural life.
Meanwhile, the Midway adds a splash of colour and excitement with its bright lights, thrilling rides, classic carnival games, and tasty treats—from cotton candy to corn dogs. It’s the perfect place for kids, teens, and fun-loving adults to get their adrenaline fix.
Agriculture & Hands-On Learning
At its core, the Quinte Exhibition is a celebration of agriculture. Throughout the grounds, Agricultural Displays and Farm Animal Exhibits give visitors of all ages a chance to get up close with cows, goats, pigs, chickens, and more. These hands-on displays are both educational and entertaining, offering a glimpse into life on the farm.
The ever-popular Petting Zoo and Pony Rides are ideal for young fairgoers, giving them a gentle and joyful introduction to farm animals and country living.
Inside the exhibition halls, the Homecraft Exhibits showcase the talents of local crafters, bakers, and artisans. From beautiful quilts and intricate needlework to delicious pies, jams, and handmade crafts, these displays highlight the incredible skill and creativity found throughout the region.
Wheels, Steel & Style
The Antique Car and Motorcycle Shows are another highlight of the fair, featuring a stunning lineup of vintage vehicles, classic cruisers, and gleaming bikes. Auto enthusiasts will love chatting with proud owners, snapping photos, and taking a trip down memory lane.

History of the Quinte Exhibition
The Quinte Exhibition, also known as the Belleville Fair, boasts a remarkable history spanning over two centuries. Established in 1821 by the Midland District Agricultural Society, it predates the formation of Canada, Ontario, and even the city of Belleville itself. This makes it the second oldest fair in Ontario and the third oldest in Canada.
Originally, the fair served as a platform for local farmers and artisans to showcase their livestock, crops, and handcrafted goods, fostering agricultural advancement and community spirit in the region. Over the years, it has evolved to encompass a wide array of attractions, including midway rides, livestock competitions, truck and tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and live entertainment, while still maintaining its agricultural roots.
In 2023, the Quinte Exhibition celebrated its 200th edition, marking a significant milestone in its storied history. The event featured a packed grandstand and midway, with special guests such as Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs, Lisa Thompson, who highlighted the fair’s integral role in the community.
Traditionally held at the fairgrounds in west-end Belleville, the exhibition is set to relocate to a new site along Black Diamond Road, which is currently under construction. Despite these changes, the Quinte Exhibition continues to thrive, offering a blend of traditional agricultural showcases and modern entertainment, remaining a beloved annual event that celebrates the rich heritage and vibrant community spirit of the Quinte region.
