The Sun Life Waterloo Busker Carnival, a not-for-profit event driven by volunteers, has been entertaining families in the Waterloo Region since 1989. The Carnival brings the best international artists in the world to UpTown Waterloo for four days, featuring acrobatics, comedians, magicians, and fire breathers. Prepare to laugh and be amazed.

Our second performer this year is… CATE GREAT. What more can be said about the “Cate Great! Show” that isn’t already suggested by its name? Cate combines high-end circus arts with distinctive comedy, captivating audiences with her sharp wit and impressive skills. Whether she’s precariously balancing on her rolla bolla or performing hand-balancing feats that seem to defy gravity, Cate consistently delivers thrills and amazement.
A seasoned performer trained at The Quebec Circus School, Cate brings over twenty years of experience to the stage and street. She has entertained crowds in eleven countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Dubai, and extensively across the United States and Canada.
Charming and immensely talented, Cate never fails to enchant her audience.

Our fourth performer this year is… PANCHO LIBRE. Experience interactive, high-skilled circus artistry at its finest with Pancho! As the first Mexican to train at the prestigious National Circus School of China in Beijing, Pancho has honed his craft alongside the world-renowned Chinese Circus. Since then, he has become a highly sought-after independent artist, captivating audiences in 35 countries across the globe.
Highlighting his illustrious career, Pancho had the honour of performing with the iconic Cirque Du Soleil during Canada’s 150th year celebration, an event hosted by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Our fifth performer this year is… SCOTT JACKSON. He has also performed at live major sporting events (NBA, NHL, MLB, CFL), toured in 18 countries, and competed in beatbox competitions worldwide. Our ninth installation performer this year is… CARTOON BOB. Born and raised in Oakville, Ontario, Bob has been drawing and capturing cartoon likenesses of people since he could hold a marker. Throughout high school, he became famously known as the “Campus Cartoonist,” especially among the faculty who often found themselves humorously lampooned in his sketches. Many teachers encouraged his artistic pursuits, allowing him to focus on his passion for drawing rather than the standard curriculum.
Join the fun and become part of the tradition by getting your caricature drawn by Cartoon Bob! Each year, people return to create a bit of history and cherish the nostalgia of their personalized cartoon portraits. Keep an eye out as he roams the streets—you never know when he’ll pop up next, pulling you into his whirlwind of dance and music. With his zany dance moves, quirky personality, and vibrant outfits, Spandy Andy is more than just a performer; he’s a viral sensation who turns every encounter into a spontaneous dance party right on the street!
