The Gladstone theatre unveils lineup for next season

The lineup for the upcoming season at The Gladstone theatre has been revealed.

Robin Guy, theatre manager at The Gladstone, told CTV morning live Wednesday this season’s lineup is “just like magic,” citing the talented artists.

We had an amazing event last night. All the producers in a room doing songs, readings, (and) just a little bits and pieces from their plays to give the attendees flavours of what’s coming next season,” Guy said.

She shares some information about the lineup:

Josiah

Josiah is a Canadian story directed by Jim Garrard. It was originally co-created by Cassel Miles and Charles Robertson. Josiah was also rewritten by Roberston.

“This is the story of Josiah’s life as an enslaved person and the inescapable adversity that that he endured throughout his life,” reads a description on The Gladstone’s website.

In Canada, he went on to establish a northern destination for the Underground Railroad at the Dawn Settlement, near Chatham, Ontario.”

Showtimes are from Aug. 19-23.

Les Belles Soeurs

The dark comedy, satire show was written in 1965. It portrays 15 women from Quebec, expressing their anger, frustration and desperation loudly and rudely.

Germaine Lauzon has won a million stamps in a contest. She invites her family and neighbours into her kitchen to help paste them into booklets,” reads a description on The Gladstone’s website.

Fighting for any power in their suffocating lives, the women yell, backstab, dream and steal in grand theatrical style.”

Les Belles Soeurs runs at the theatre from Nov. 21-29.

Blood Relations

Blood Relations is also a Canadian psychological murder mystery based on the true story of Lizzie Borden, “who may or may not have killed her own blood relations in Fall River, Massachusetts, in 1893. The murder remains unsolved.”

It is written by renowned playwright Sharon Pollock, the recipient of the Governor General’s Award for Blood Relations.

Showtimes are March 4-14, 2026.

Once

Once is an enchanting, heartfelt musical. It is about an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant “whose chance encounter sparks a transformative journey of love, music, and self-discovery.”

The winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical is also about “dreams, human connection, and the power of music.”

Showtimes are June 3 – 13, 2026.
