The Caribana Festival officially launches on early July 2024, however the majority of visitors come out for the actual Caribana weekend which is from Thursday August 1st to Monday August 5th, 2024. For those of you who will only be in Toronto for Caribana weekend, there are still going to be a ton of family events to check out! The King and Queen Competition will take place on Thursday of the long weekend at Lamport Stadium, showcasing the costume’s of Caribana Mas Bands worldwide.
Don’t forget about the main attraction of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival – the grande parade! This highly anticipated Caribana event takes place on Saturday of the long weekend and draws in over 1 million visitors and Toronto residents annually. This cultural event is by far the biggest and most important in Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival. You won’t want to miss it! This kickoff event gives the city of Toronto a taste of what’s to come in the upcoming weeks ahead. There is an array of performances by popular Caribbean music artists. It is a cultural showcase and celebration of the creative spirit of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival.
The Band Leaders for the parade showcase their elaborate costumes that will be presented in the Parade. As well, you will be able to taste some of the Caribbean’s traditional and favourite foods that will be available at many of the Festival events.
