Celebrate Fall the Trout Creek Way!
Join us from August 22nd to 24th, 2025, for the Trout Creek Fall Fair—a weekend of community, celebration, and country fun that captures the true spirit of fall in Northern Ontario!
History of the Trout Creek Fall Fair
The Trout Creek Fall Fair has been a cherished tradition in the village of Trout Creek, Ontario, for many decades. Though smaller in scale than some of the province’s larger fairs, it holds deep roots in the local community and reflects the values of northern rural life, agriculture, and family celebration.
The fair is organized by the Trout Creek Agricultural Society, which was established to support and promote agriculture and community spirit in Powassan Township and the surrounding areas. While the exact founding year of the fair is not widely documented, it is known to have been running for many years—serving as a vibrant seasonal event that marks the end of summer and brings together residents of all ages.
Historically, the Trout Creek Fall Fair has featured agricultural exhibits, home baking and canning competitions, arts and crafts displays, and livestock showcases, especially highlighting the hard work of local farmers and youth in 4-H clubs. It has also offered games for kids, live entertainment, local vendors, and a strong community atmosphere that keeps people coming back year after year.
Over time, the fair has adapted to modern interests while still honoring its rural roots. The inclusion of fun contests, music, and family activities ensures its appeal to new generations, while the commitment of volunteers and local sponsors helps preserve its grassroots character.
The Trout Creek Fall Fair remains a heartfelt celebration of community and country life, demonstrating the enduring importance of rural fairs in keeping traditions alive and communities connected in northern Ontario.
