History of the Valley Agricultural Festival

Did you know that the first Agricultural Society in Renfrew County was formed in 1854 in McNab Township? Also, that Arnprior Ag. Society hosted the first fair in Renfrew County! September 25, 1867, the Society held the first annual exhibition in Balmer Island. It was first called the Balmer Island Fair, later the Stewartville Fair as the village was renamed. Around 1896 – 1910 it was reorganized as the Arnprior Fair hosted by the Arnprior Ag. Society with 120 members and moved in to Arnprior. We are excited to announce that we have been carefully planning and rebranding and will be known as the Valley Agricultural Festival.
