Winner – 2024 Robinson Emerging Artist Showcase!
The Goderich Celtic Roots Festival is thrilled to announce the winner of the 2024 Robinson Emerging Artist Showcase. After careful consideration by a jury of industry professionals along with a public vote, this year’s Robinson Emerging Artist is Apolline.
This year’s Goderich Celtic Roots Festival will be the 32nd edition and Apolline will be right at the heart of the action, joining international sensations, rising stars and homegrown talent alike in entertaining loyal audiences flocking to Goderich, Ontario for the annual event.
“We are thrilled to have Apolline join us as the Robinson Emerging Artist winner,” said Artistic Director Cheryl Prashker. “We have no doubt that Apolline’s talent will continue to shine brightly, inspiring countless others along the way. We can’t wait to see them on stage at the 32nd Goderich Celtic Roots Festival.”
Australian folk trio Apolline (pronounced Apo-leen) is well known for their genre-bending arrangements of traditional Celtic melodies and original songs that inspire a new generation of contemporary folk. Their debut EP Home Home, released in December 2023, encapsulates the very best of Apolline’s ever-growing sound. It honours the traditions of folk music while also recognizing the contemporary influence of Apolline’s Antipodean perspective, that helps their own connection to folk traditions grow alongside their genre-bending sound.
Named after Founders Warren and Eleanor Robinson, the Robinson Emerging Artist Showcase, now in its third year, partnered with Dolmen Entertainment and SoundBox Music to create an opportunity for artists in the early stages of their career. Apolline will participate in a series of artist development sessions and will have the opportunity to perform on the main stage at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival, which takes place from August 9th to August 11th.
