Winter carnival fun coming to area communities
Winter carnivals are how many local communities gather to enjoy the depths of the winter season, and a series of winter carnivals in communities, both in Eastern Ontario and Argenteuil are coming up in the weeks ahead. Here is a list of the communities hosting winter carnivals across the region, from the first event to the last.
Dalkeith
The Dalkeith Winter Carnival takes place on Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26. The parade takes place at 2 pm on January 25. The day also includes a four-on-four hockey tournament, performance by the MacLeod Fiddlers, and a dance. Sunday’s activities include a magic show and a pig roast supper. Dunvegan
Saturday, February 1 is winter carnival day in Dunvegan. Breakfast will be served in the community hall from 8 am until 10 am. Carnival activities begin at the farm of James Joyce and Terry Swetzer, located at 19314 County Road 24, at 10 am. There will be various games to play, and hot soup and hot chocolate will be served. St-Bernardin
The St-Bernardin Winter Carnival is Saturday, February 1 at the Caledonia Community Centre, located at 6900 County Road 22. Highlights of the day include the skating rink, live music, a sliding hill, live music, dancing, and a spaghetti supper. The Mount St-Bern Downhill Challenge will feature homemade or decorated toboggans, and the one which travels the furthest wins! The carnival begins at 1 pm. Grenville
